Here are some conversions sent in by Mr. Justin Boggess of USA. He is 17 years old, and a senior in high school!
35th Regiment of Foot-This regiment had the standard British uniform of the time period with Orange facings and lace with yellow zigzag between yellow and red stripes. This regiment is well known for it's service at
Fort William Henry in New York in 1757. Out of 586 men of the regiment, about 11% were killed, missing, or captured by the Indians and French.
Private, 3rd Guards-This figure shows the uniform worn by the Foot Guards in Germany in 1762. A field sign of green leaves is missing from the hat which signified being in the service of Allied troops in
Germany.
Grenadier, Ligoniers (48th Foot)-the front of the mitre cap had the royal cipher and the white horse of Hanover now standard on all mitre caps. The time period is 1745. The facings should be Buff instead of
yellow, but I had trouble matching colors. Besides, on my limited budget, one has to make do with what he's got.
Officer Royal Welsh Fusiliers (23rd Foot)-This figure represents a officer during the period of 1740. Rank is signified by the gorget (look real close) and the gold aiguillette. Now, is it just me or are the Revell Prussian Seven Year's War figures just a bit too tall, and skinny? And, has anyone noticed the poor detail?
Nassau Grenadier 1815-This conversion is inspired by Mr. D'Arcy's earlier conversions. Instead of using Revell's Chasseur a' Cheval busbies (which don't get me wrong, I would love to use) I just trimed
the top of the figure's bearskin. I wasn't willing to sacrifice a few of my chasseurs (I only have 17 of them), and I don't have the skills yet. This grenadier represents the 2nd Nassau regiment (minus the red
plume).
Nassau Jagers 1815-These figures represent various jager companies of the Waterloo campaign. I used Esci French Line infantry (only the poses I rarely use for the French, as I'm low on these guys as well).
Nassau Line Infantry 1815-Again, I used Esci French Line infantry.
These are simple painting conversions.
Nassau Pioneer 1st Infantry Reg. 1809-13-This conversion was inspired from the Osprey book Napoleon's German Allies 2: Nassau & Oldenburg. Again, it's a painting conversion from the Esci Imperial Guard figures.
Nassau Staff Officer 1815-Again, this figure is inspired from the Osprey book. I used the officer from Revell's Imperial Guard, and just painted it differently. Note the yellow trim on the uniform.
Many thanks to Mr. Boggess for sending in this contribution.
