Here are more conversions sent in by Mr. Justin Boggess of USA.
WWII German trooper with Brown plane tree cammo-Now, the paint job I've done here doesn't match pretty well with the actual cammo, but I think it'll pass. I used Tamiya Red/Brown as a base color, then added black and sand/beige. He is armed with a StG44 (forerunner of today's AK-47).
WWII German trooper with plane tree cammo-This is the same type, only in green. I used dark green as a base (it should be much lighter, but dark is the only green I've got), then added black, grey, and sand beige.
This is a figure from Revell's German Engineers (perhaps I can use him surrendering).
WWII German trooper with 'Blurred' edge smock-Again, I used Tamiya Red/Brown as a base color. Then I added burnt sienna, dark green, black, and to make it look blurred a watered down grey. This trooper has a
StG44 and looks like he has a modified stick grenade developed towards the end of the war to knock out allied tanks.
SWAT officer with MP-5-This guy is dressed to kill terrorists and save hostages. He is just a paint conversion from Revell's WWII Russian troops. The helmet doesn't look like your standard Kevlar helmet, but looks like a ballistic one instead (Delta, and some other police departments are switching to this type of helmet). He has a MP-5 with a double mag attachment for quicker relaoding (that's how I can cover up
the drum mag on his Ppsh submachine gun, don't tell any one that :).
SWAT officer with Benelli Shotgun-And this guy is ready to blow open some doors with that shotgun. The same conversion as above, only I cut away the mag on the submachine gun to represent a pistol grip shotgun.
Camel Corps troopers-These two figures are from Esci's famous British Zulu War infantry. I painted the tunic a light grey, and attempted to paint the bandolier. I also shortened the rifles to represent carbines.
Camel Corps Officer-Again, this figure is from Esci's British infantry. Note the pistol in his hand, is it just me or does that look to be a bit too big for a Webley?
The horrors of War-These two figures are from Esci's British Infantry. Sometimes (even I'm guilty of this), we get caught up in all the 'glory', or the uniforms of war. Yet there's one aspect always there, that many times, men die. The first figure has a nasty head injury while the second one is of the Camel Corps and couldn't get out of the way of a Hadendowa spear (or bullet) at Abu Klea.
Many thanks to Mr. Boggess for sending in this contribution.
