Today, we have more conversions from Alessandro Gentilini of Italy.
The first is an only color conversion to Saxe hussar in 1806 uniform; the figure is a Revell 7YW Prussian hussar. In this period the Saxe army fought, with no many enthusiasms, with Prussian against Napoleon Grande Armeé, and was defeat together in Jena battle. I make this simple conversion because this uniform is very smart, I think, and I like it very much.
The sequent conversions, only color too, is all various periods Italian uniforms. The first is a 1796 Sardinian kingdom infantryman, obtained from an Airfix American soldier of Independence War. I have just change the hat a little and added an anterior cartridge box. This is an hypothetical uniform reconstruction of sardinians soldiers that fought in Ceva and Millesimo battles against French.
The second is an Italian Royal Guard standard bearer grenadier in 1805 uniform
and the third is a velite grenadier, of Italian Royal Guard too. Both converted from ESCI French Imperial Guard. This troop fought, under Prince Eugenio de Beauharnais command, in the terrible 1812 Russia campaign and in Borodino battle. Like other Grande Armeé units, they were almost destroyed during the wintry retreat.
The last conversion is a 1813 Polish infantryman with czapska, derived from ESCI French infantry. The czapska is obtained to ESCI Polish lancers (this is a resin model). The Polish troops were the most brave and faithful Napoleon allied. They fought with the French army since 1797, first like a Polish legion and then like Duchy of Warsaw army. Polish troops, lancers in particular fought with French army since at Waterloo battle. With Napoleon defeat, the Poland Kingdom dream fall down definitively.
Many thanks for Mr. Alessandro Gentilini of Sardinia, our only contributor from that part of the world.
