Here is our first contribution from Israel!
"We are two brothers, Arkadi & Konstantin Soroker, financial executive and graphical designer, respectively. From our childhood we have been interested in the military history of Rome, including collection of Roman soldiers.
We started this hobby in the former Soviet Union and continue to be interested in it in Israel too. (We are living here already for 9 years.)
We replenish our collection with pieces produced by various firms and with tin soldiers made by ourselves.
For the conversion of the industrially produced Roman legionaires, we used some parts of different plastic goods, and also we have made several additional parts from "Fimo." The cover of the stand foundation has been made of Holy Land sand. In the pictures displaying several miniatures, the figure on the right is standing in the original pose. We accept Delbrück's explanation of Polibius concerning armour, but we did not change the original soldier figures in order to divide Hastati from Principes and Triarii.
We have also made a Tribuni Militum (we consider him to be one of the six who was in command of Hastati during the battle) and Centurio as well.
We would be grateful to receive any remarks and recommendations. Please, send your feed-backs to: Arkadi Soroker or Konstantin Soroker
Thank you for your kind attention,
Arkadi & Konstantin Soroker"
Many thanks to Mr. Arkadi & Konstantin Soroker for sending in their contribution. This is our first contribution from two brothers and from Israel.
