Dated: December 20, 2000.
NOTE: Due to technical and molding restraints, these figures will not come with a the long sarissa (pike). The customers will have to supply the sarissa themselves that they can snap in. Piano wire, broom or brush straws or fiber optic plastic are suggested.
A suggestion from Andy Callan: "Another cheap, readily available source of pikes - which I have used for many years - FLORISTS WIRE . It is rigid (unlike broom straws, which tend to droop beyond about 2 inches) but soft enough to make spear heads at the end - hammer it flat and file to shape. Over here in England it comes in lengths of about 9 inches, and you can buy a pack of 30 or so for about 50p (less than a dollar). The metal seems to a be a fairly soft iron, very dark, almost black, in appearance, so it looks pretty good even if you don't paint it !" Many thanks for the suggestion.
Approx. actual size.
