Some legionaries are wearing the new lorica segmentata, some are wearing the older chain mail and some are are wearing scale mail. It has been recognized that this mix of armor was common and realistic in the Roman legions. Archeological evidence is showing that the crest is more common than thought. The crested figures can be used as Praetorians or the crests can be cut off quite easily.
