These are resin cast figures sent in by Mr. Chris D'Arcy.
Two foot French Artillerymen flank a Dutch Jager.
The French artillery figures were converted from ESCI French Artillery and the shakos from the ESCI French line. The Dutch Jager's small body marked him as an Italeri Austrian Line body, the Dutch shako is the ESCI British Infantry shako converted as before.
The left 2 figures are resin. Detail was very good and even small details like buttons on the tunic were easily seen. The resin figure is fatter. On comparison with the original ESCI figure, this one has certainly filled out and put on weight. Other than size, the split lines are very close together and gives nothing away. Having said that the Dutch Jager does not seem to have expanded appreciatively in size, in fact, if anything, he's shrunken. Detail on this one does not seem to be as good, but possibly that's just because it's hard to pick out details with that material.
Here are the complete set of French foot artillery conversions cast in resin. There are 7 figures in all, the first scan show the 4 'stock' poses. All are ESCI Guards artillerymen who've turned in their bearskins for shakos.
Here are the other 3 figures. Further conversion has been performed prior to casting.
The officer is the same except that his telescope has been removed and another arm transplanted on at the elbow. The transplanted arm has the characteristics of an ESCI finger, the index finger is short and the thumb does not cover any other digit. Italeri hands, by the way, are more delicate, and the thumb more often than not covers the 3rd digit. The second man is the stock firer with his portfire removed and a bucket added on. The ramrod man is the firer with the the portfire removed and his arm bent at the elbow, you can see the bend. An excellent set of conversions.
This is a zouave conversion sent in by Eric Williamson.
This is an Italeri zouave, with the addition of a turban. The turban is from the French Mameluke set, the stocking cap is added on top of that.
