The following are Napoleonic Horse conversions sent in by Mr. Chris D'Arcy.
Trooper of the Russian Lifeguard Hussars (1812). This stout and well detailed horse shouted 'Italeri!' and a look at the bottom of the base, silver, confirmed it. The hussar body is Italeri French Hussar. Closer scrutiny revealed the shako to be ESCI Russian Grenadier shako with the plume from the Hussar shako. This is an excellent conversion, the cut line is hardly seen and comparison with Osprey #189 reveals a perfect match, down to the collar trim and the frogging on his legs.
Trooper of the Russian Pavlograd Hussars (1812). The horse is ESCI Polish Lancer. The figure is Italeri French Hussar, they're the only cavalry figures with those exceptionally prominent buttons on the seam of the legs, which again almost matches perfectly with the illustration in Osprey #189. The figure orginally held a carbine and some minor surgery is done to fit the lance on. The lances is ESCI Polish Lancer, a kiwer is fitted on and as a final touch the cadenettes are expertly snipped off.
This next is one of the Emperor's Guard Lithuanian Tartars. This band of unfortunates was slaughtered and decimated in its two years of existance. The horse and body are from HäT's own Mamelukes. The busby is one of ESCI's British Light Dragoons/Hussar's with a plume fitted on. ESCI's busbies were not quite accurate, being too thin, possibly the Airfix or the Revell Guard Chasseur a Cheval busby would be a better match. The lance again is the Polish Lancer lance, and the painting again conforms exactly to Osprey #83's illustration.
The above is a paint conversion. It is an ESCI Crimean War British Hussar painted as a British trooper of the 18th Hussars (1815).
1815 trooper of the Dutch Hussars. The body is most certainly a ESCI Waterloo British Light Dragoon and the shako an ESCI French Line shako.
French trooper of the Grenadiers a Cheval (1806-1807). Bearskin ESCI Napoleonic French Imperial Guard, body Revell Seven Years War Austrian dragoon.
British trooper from the 3rd Dragoons (1812). Body ESCI Scots Greys body, of course the Scots Greys were just the 2nd (Royal North British) Dragoons. Helmets Revell's British Lifeguard.
Many thanks for this interesting set of cavalry figures.
