Here's Ross Macfarlane's second contribution, Turks converted from our 1/32 scale zoauves and French dragoons. They are very good looking indeed, many thanks to Mr. Macfarlane for sending us his conversions. His comments are produced verbatim below.
Here's a shot of some of my Zouave conversions. I figured if the Zouave uniforms were based on Turkish styles, it ought to be easy to go back the other way and it was. These figures are for my campaigns in Egypt vs the French in 1799 and the British in 1807. Most Turkish units were not uniformed but some units with European training were and this is where I have started.
The first unit in light blue & white Turko style have just been painted.
The 2nd unit in red and white have had their caps modified into fezes with turban in the style of the Cairo jannisaries.
The cavalry are converted from Hat dragoons.
The officers, since no zouave officers are available - have been converted from Accurate ACW officers.
