This mini set still comes up in e-mail correspondence with our viewers so we know it still in collectors' minds. This was a small accessory set with a couple of wagons, some barricades and miscellaneous barrels etc. that came with the Waterloo Assault set. Most individuals (I know I did) immediately cast them aside because they were not of a military nature and and neither helped nor hindered the French from capturing La Haye Sainte. The farmhouse was re-issued by Airfix some years ago but apparently the accessory set was lost. So for the collectors who want to refresh their memories, here are 2 scans, a scan that shows the complete set but is blurred, and a very incomplete set that was recieved in the mail recently but scanned directly on the scanner.
The first scan has been shown on this web site previously. On the top row a wagon is seen with it's 4 horses, driver and 2 barrels. The second row shows the smaller wagon with driver and two horses. On the bottom left is presumably the instructions. To the right of that is a bunch of smaller accessories, a wheelbarrow, sacks (of corn?), and farming implements. At the right are three barricades. It is unknown what that object on the bottom right is. (It has just been revealed to us by a viewer that this object is a pile of logs!)
This scan shows a wagon that was sent in. From looking at the above scan, it can be seen that this wagon was put together from the wrong pieces. It has the top wagon's body but the lower wagon's hitch, horses and driver. The other 2 objects are the bases of the barricades. The driver is medieval looking and probably the whole set could be used with the Nottingham Castle playset as well.
A final note: This set was done in a pretty brown red color that Airfix was pretty fond of for earlier sets. Other Airfix sets done is this color were Ancient Britons, WWI Royal Horse Artillery, ACW Artillery, and Wagon Train amongst others.
