A contribution from David Ducouret of France:
"Please allow these models to be my modest contribution to your superb page dedicated to conversion. This would be an honor for me.
My sincere apologies to people who may notice some historic inaccuracies, but what I was looking for was more esthetic figures (I hope I've reached my goal) than realistic ones.
To my deep regret I could not find Highland clansmen in a set, whom I consider as beautiful figures because basic colours are to be used and the tartan is quite uneasy to draw, then I've decided to make my own clan. The following figures are conversions from Italeri's Highlanders grenadiers and Greek infantry as you can see the original models. The basket-hilted swords are wood and plastic and the targets (small leather shields) are taken from Italeri's Persian infantry. I had to cut off the knapsacks and gourds from some of the figures and to shorten the vests in order to turn them into shirts.
My "clan" is not finished yet as I'm planning to (try to) create pikemen, bowmen and maybe some figures with a gun, and the hurt highlander grenadier figure is one of the figures I like the most, maybe another highland clansman with a broadsword in his right hand and his left hand on the wound should soon be added to my collection, and I'm studying famous figures as William Wallace and Rob Roy."
Many thanks to Mr. David Ducouret for sharing his figures with us.
