World War I trench warfare. Supported by Royal Horse Artillery, British infantry go over the top charging the German line. With barbed wire, poison gas (chlorine), flame throwers, and machine guns, the odds are zero and none. Same thing going the other way. Air warfare wasn't a whole lot better.
