From Jean-François Goester of France.
"As promised in one of my previous Email some weeks ago, here are some snapshots of my new Waterloo diorama (previous one was related to the Union Brigade Charge). This diorama now consists in one of the French Cavalry charges against British squares.
So, we can see part of an English square (aligned on four ranks as usual) attacked by 2nd Regiment of Carabiniers. Besides, an English battery is also attacked by these Carabiniers and Dragoons of the 7th regiment. Further, we can also see part the Imperial guard cavalry with Horse grenadiers and 2nd Regiment of Lancers (so called Red Lancers).
Historical note: Carabiniers have participated to the last charges (Kellerman would keep them for reserve but Ney has found them anyway). So, I am not quite sure that Horse grenadiers and 2nd Regiment of Lancers who have participated to first charges were able to charge again with Carabiniers ...
This diorama is composed of 286 soldiers, 113 horses, 2 cannons and 1 horse carriage.
The origin of the figurines are:
English infantry: Airfix, Hät and Revell
English artillery: Airfix
2nd Carabiniers: Italeri
7th Dragoons: Hät for soldiers, Italeri for horses
Horse grenadiers: Hät
Polish lancers: Italeri and Esci
French general officer and his "aide de camp": Italeri
At last Italeri for some dead soldiers and horses (cuirassiers and dragoons)
Best regards and see you later for another diorama (this time with Prussians)."
