A contribution from Mr. Giovanni Virdis of Italy:
"Hello everybody, I would like to show you a change I made to a French Dragon Hat (1:32) made by me about two years ago.
The idea was to fuse the poses of the two horses inside the box in order to arrange them with that of the dragon in the action of delivering a downward blow with a sabre.
Therefore, two horses at the height of the saddle had been chosen and after the insertion of a pin, the two halves have been glued together. The original base had then been removed, the inclination of the tail had been modified, the original bridle had been eliminated (fig.1) and the stirrups had been added (fig.2) on which the horseman stands on his toes to contrast the rearing of the horse.
Two fluttering tails were then added to the dragons jacket (fig.2) and then painted according to the indications contained in the volume "Uniforms of the retreat from Moscow" of the Blandford Colour series about the elite Napoleon company - the dragons.
Hoping that this modification, which was meant to add a bit more dynamism and drama to the figures, is of your liking.
Ciao, till the next time."
Many thanks to Mr. Giovanni Virdis for sending in his pictures.
